The Provincial Council of Alicante, through the Patronato Costa Blanca, has set a target boost sports tourism in order to seasonally adjusted tourism demand in the province. Deputy Tourism, Eduardo Dolon, explained that the intention is to keep the arrival of visitors to the province throughout the year and said that " obviously, when talking about the sport segment, the course occupies an essential place.
Eduardo Dolon has met with the president of the Association of Golf Courses of the Costa Blanca, Salvador Lucas, to address future strategies for joint collaboration in this regard. During the meeting they have agreed to carry out a specific study on the impact of golf tourism in the province of Alicante. The idea is to serve as an initial framework for the future development of a powerful promotional action to situate offer courses on the Costa Blanca to the international forefront of this type of tourism.
The Association of Golf Courses of the Costa Blanca consists of the following golf courses: La Sella Golf, Club de Golf Javea, Ifach Golf Club, Golf Club Altea, Bonalba Golf & Spa, Alicante Golf, Alenda Golf, Font del Llop Golf Resort, La Marquesa Golf, La Finca Golf & Spa,Golf Villamartin, Las Ramblas Golf, Real Club de Golf Campoamor, Club de Golf Oliva Nova and La Galiana Golf.

Miguel Angel Jimenez offered a good show to all in the Shaw Charity Golf Classic tournament, Champions Tour (PGA Tour Senior Tour) which took place in the Canyon Meadows Golf & Country Club in Calgary, Canada, recently on the 5th-9th August 2015.
Jimenez lead with Colin Montgomerie to -12 and two ahead of Jeff Magett after seven birdies score between 5 and 13 hole and an eagle on the 18th, 61 strokes equaling the course record. But Jeff Magett would finally win after cruising to a four-shot victory over Colin Montgomerie at the Shaw Charity Classic after shooting a 6-under 64 on the last day, Sunday.
